Third Annual Literary Street Festival in Kadriorg

September 14, 2019 @ 10:00 am

The Literary Street Festival takes place on Koidula Street in Kadriorg, a special literary street. The aim of the Literary Street Festival is to draw attention to Estonian literature, literary heritage and surrounding literary public space. For one day, this festival brings together organizations directly or indirectly engaged in literature, and the local community, who get involved with the yard cafes and the program. The festival was also nominated for “Community Friend 2018” at the Estonian Museum Awards.

This year is the year of the Estonian language, the jubilee years of literary classics Mati Unt, Juhan Liiv, Heiti Talvik, Uku Masing. Johann Voldemar Jannsen’s 200th birthday and the year of the song and dance party. All these literary anniversaries also have a place in our program. Throughout the day, you can take part in new book presentations, listen to exciting literary and cultural discussions, meet writers, see public recordings, take walks in Kadriorg, enjoy music, theater and good street food.
