Più libri più liberi – Rome Book Fair 2018
More free books is the National Fair of Small and Medium Publishing. Since 2017, the event is held at the new convention center of the capital, La Nuvola, designed by the architect Massimiliano Fuksas. More books is the only fair in the world dedicated exclusively to independent publishing where every year about 500 publishers, coming from all over Italy, present to the public the news and their catalog. Five days and over 600 events in which to meet the authors, attend reading and musical performances, listen to debates on the issues of the sector.
More free books were created in December 2002 from an idea by the Piccoli Editori Group of the Italian Publishers Association. The goal is to offer as many small publishers as possible a space to bring their production to the fore, often “obscured” by that of larger companies, guaranteeing the showcase they deserve. An exceptional showcase, in the center of Rome and during the Christmas period.
But #piulibri is not just this, the real heart of the fair is the cultural program: meetings with authors, readings, debates on current issues, initiatives to promote reading, music and live performances mark the five days of the event in a continuous succession of events for all tastes and for all ages.
More freer books is also a meeting place for professional operators, where to discuss the problems of the sector and where to identify the strategies to be developed.
